Smart Energy Control Center inauguration at the Wind Operations Europe 2020

For another year, Wind Operations Europe has brought together more than 400 asset owners and operator communities from all around Europe. This year the agenda was booked with speakers from the most recognized companies in the sector but also from smaller enterprises which have presented innovative technologies and solutions to maximize profitability and life extension of renewable assets.

Key topics for the 2020 meeting focused on the concepts of maximizing energy availability at all levels, new digitalization capabilities and asset management strategies for evolving markets, and increasing ROI. SECC is being launched in a new paradigm where intelligent technologies are disrupting renewable assets management and O&M.

World’s first Intelligent Control Center

After 8 years of developing automated operations tools, Green Eagle Solutions has launched its own Remote Control Center which is the world’s first intelligent control center.

Why do we call it intelligent? Well, Green Eagle’s team of IT experts has automated the decision making process usually implemented in standard control centers. In this way, our operators don’t need to actively monitor and react upon incidences since our technology does it itself. Having an automated logic engine which operates according to pre-established protocols autonomously means that we reduce human time response and therefore increase assets’ availability.  The AI tools used to perform smart automated actions from wind portfolios can also be applied to turbine level.

The Smart Energy Control Center has also introduced CMS (Condition Monitoring System) and local and external conditions data to operate taking into account turbine vibrations, bats and birds information, market price and TSO curtailments. Considering  third-party information allows the SECC to operate its clients portfolios with shorter reaction times and higher energy and economic-based availability.

SECC is the most representative adaptation to the industry’s digitization process.  This intelligent system is able to tackle the same tasks that a human operator would, such as turbine failure management, communication failures, curtailments, monitoring and operating protocols, but in an automatic way, saving time and therefore resources.
